Sporting Events Code of Conduct

LCCS

Every player, parent/guardian, coach, referee and spectator shall conform their behavior to the following Learning Community Charter School’s Code of Conduct for Athletic Events hosted by the Athletic Department:

  • No engagement in unsportsmanlike conduct with any player, parent/guardian, coach, participant, referee or any other attendee.
  • No encouragement of any athlete, or any other person, to engage in unsportsmanlike conduct with any player, parent/guardian, coach, participant, referee or any other attendee.
  • No engagement in any behavior that would endanger the health, safety or well-being of any player, parent/guardian, coach, participant, referee or any other attendee.
  • No usage of drugs or alcohol while at an LCCS Sporting Event, nor any prior usage that would result in attending an LCCS Sporting Event under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • No encouragement of any other person to use drugs or alcohol at an LCCS Sporting Event, or prior to.
  • No engagement in the usage of profanity or non-verbal gestures that are demeaning and inappropriate.
  • No encouragement of any other person to engage in the use of profanity or non-verbal gestures that are demeaning and inappropriate.
  • No engagement or encouragement of any behavior, verbal or non-verbal, that does not treat any player, parent/guardian, coach, participant, referee or any other attendee with respect, regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identification or ability.
  • No engagement in verbal or physical threats of abuse aimed at any player, parent/guardian, coach, participant, referee or any other attendee.
  • No initiation of a physical fight or scuffle with any player, parent/guardian, coach, participant, referee or any other attendee.

Any failure to conform one’s conduct to the foregoing expectations at any LCCS Athletic Event hosted by the LCCS Athletic Department, while attending, coaching, officiating or participating, will result in disciplinary action including, but not limited to:

Verbal warning by school official, written warning by school official, immediate ejection from LCCS Sporting Event by school official, subsequent suspensions from entering the LCCS premises during future Sporting Events and/or Interaction with the Jersey City Police Department should school official contact them.
