What is Pi Day?
Pi is the beloved mathematical constant that is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. Beloved? Yes! We will be celebrating Pi by joining forces with Google Expeditions and Parson’s School of Design & Technology, along with a a select group of partner-sponsors like Mathnasium to provide the community with the ultimate “STEM-centric” experience for kids of all ages.
This year, more than 1,000 attendees will participate in Pi (π) Day and engage in a variety of hands-on activities, such as virtual reality exhibits, apps, kid-generated video games, robotics, crafts, and board games.
Pi Day is also a vital fundraiser for the Learning Community Charter School. LCCS serves 585 students from all over Jersey City.
